Mount Pleasant

  • Red Drum (brunch, dinner) - W, NB, O, R, US - Southwest & Southern cuisine. Tip: Cozy bar. In the winter, request to sit by the fire.
  • Vintage (breakfast, lunch) - W, NB, KF, O, C - Healthy breakfast and lunch place. Tip: Enjoy adult food and coffee while the kids cut loose in the outdoor play area.
  • Coastal Crust (weekend lunch, dinner) - W, NB, KF, O, C - Brick fire pizzas and salads. Shares the same outdoor space as Vintage.
  • Nico's (weekend brunch, dinner) - W, NB, O, R, US - French oyster + seafood house. 
  • Graze (Sunday brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner) - NB, O, C) - Tucked away in the Whole Foods strip mall. Fantastic menu. Our favorite spot for a happy-hour/small-plate picnic dinner sort of experience. Tip: Perogies, green-apple, cauliflower soup, any salad and lobster mac n cheese.
  • Post House Inn (brunch, lunch, dinner) W, NB, O, R, US - Upscale establish ideal for date night. Reservations needed.
  • Coleman Public House (lunch, dinner) - NB, KF, C - If you can get past the strip mall setting, the food here is fantastic. There is something for everyone. Very popular among locals.
  • Pickled Palate (lunch) - W, NB, KF, O, C, R - Quaint little soup, salad, sandwich spot that oozes old MP charm. Tip: Don't miss the store in the yard shed. 
  • Five Loaves (brunch, lunch, dinner) - NB, KF, O, C - Fantastic homemade soups, salads and sandwiches and combos of. Tip: Hot Ham & Brie.
  • Mozzo's Deli (breakfast, lunch) - W, NB, KF, O, C - Local fast-casual fixture for breakfast items, sandwiches, salads & more. Tip: Call in a beach lunch order.
  • Joey Tomatoes (lunch) - W, NB, KF, O, C - Authentic Jersey-style sandwiches. Delicious if you can handle the wait. Tip: Call in your order and take it to go. 
  • Pitt St Pharmacy (lunch/snack) - W, NB, KF, C - Walk back in time to this neighborhood fixture that is still relevant today. Kid-friendly counter service. Tip: Chicken salad.
  • Page's Okra Grill (brunch, lunch, dinner) - W, NB, KF, O, C - Owned by the former mayor; known for enormous Southern comfort foods. A brunch favorite. Come hungry. 

 

Sullivan's Island

  • Mex1 Coastal Cantina (lunch, dinner) - NB, KF, O, C - Mexican with specialty margs. Tip: Bangin' Shrimp Bowl.
  • Poe's (lunch, dinner) - NB, KF, O, C - Something for everyone. Known especially for burgers and brews. Equally chill indoor and outdoor seating.
  • Home Town BBQ (lunch, dinner) - NB, KF, O, C - Beautiful slabs of meat with excellent sides. Personal favorite: Nachos
  • Coop's (breakfast, lunch) - NB, KF, O, C - Fast-casual, beach sandwich, salad & coffee shop that [wait for it] serves tap Frose. Tip: Follow on the gram for daily belly laughs.

 

Charleston

  • Raw 167 (lunch, dinner) - C, US - A MUST! So much more than a raw bar. Tip: Lobster roll. Reservations not accepted. Go at off times to avoid long waits (i.e., 3:00pm Wed)
  • Slightly North of Broad (brunch, lunch, dinner) - R, US - Southern fine dining. Tip: Check out the cocktail menu. Make reservations.
  • Lewis BBQ (lunch, dinner) - KF, O, C - Legendary, fast-casual BBQ. Personal favorite: Beef brisket. Save room for sides.
  • Queen 82 (brunch, lunch, dinner) - O, R, US - Understated fine dining establishment specializing in refined Low Country cuisine. Make reservations. Tip: Pay in cash to avoid credit card fees.

  • The Southern (W, NB, O, C) - This is about as divy as a You won't find a more local spot in Mt Pleasant. Where locals go after work. Live, homegrown music a few nights/week. Better than average bar food. Very short walk, especially from Kickback Cottage.
  • Leeah's Old Village Wine Shop (W, NB, O, C/US, R) - Quaint one room wine shop in the heart of Old Village serving wine and bubbly by the glass. Great stop for couples or a group of girlfriends.

 

Charleston

  • The Vendue (O, R, US) - Charleston's #1 rooftop bar with views of the historic rooftops and the harbor. 
  • Vintage Lounge (R, US) - Located in the streak of lounges and restaurants on Upper King in Charleston, this is our favorite. Superior cocktails and service.
  • Edmund's Oast (O, KF, C/US, R) - Brewery + restaurant on the north end of the peninsula (where many local breweries are) offering rich, flavorful food and beers. Kid-friendly, casual and occasionally romantic :-).
